It is an honor to share that I will be participating as a facilitator in one of the pool parties, where I will lead a dialogue at the Teachers College, Columbia 2021 Reimagining Education Summer Institute (RESI) each day! Well what is RESI? Teacher’s College, Columbia’s website shares
“Teachers College’s Reimagining Education: Teaching, Learning and Leading for a Racially Just Society Summer Institute provides the knowledge, support and community of professionals you need to become a racially literate, culturally relevant and anti-racist educator. Without these tools, you cannot support your students’ academic, social and emotional well-being or address racial injustice in our educational system and society. The future of our diverse democracy and the inter-cultural understanding needed to sustain it depends on our schools’ ability to do the required race work to educate and integrate.
Back by popular demand, our professional development Summer Institute, July 12-15, 2021 will be held virtually at an affordable price for educators who need to earn PD credits (30 CTLEs or clock hours). Join us!”
The Keynote speaker for this year is NIKOLE HANNAH-JONES who is a MacArthur Genius for “reshaping national conversations around education reform.” Teacher’s College writes, “She is the creator of the New York Times Magazine’s “The 1619 Project,” about the history and lasting legacy of American slavery, for which her powerful introductory essay was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for commentary. She’s also won a Peabody, two George Polk awards, and the National Magazine Awards three times.”
I look forward to seeing you there!! Click here to register!
